Hello, my name is Walter Junior and I work in comic books, publishing houses, advertising, promotional agencies and others specific media clients. Here're some informations about me: I started as pro in 1990. I was a didatic book illustrator to a particular school in São Paulo (city I was born and live). In same time, with some friends, we published a fanzine called SAGA and during six years, SAGA was getting a great reference and won 2 HQMix Awards (a very cult comic book award in Brazil), 1 Angelo Agostini Awards (the principal comic book award here) and 1 Nova, a sci-fi award. After that, I worked in advertising agencies as graphic designer and illustrator, in a publish house as art director, in a graphic house as designer and as freelance, I did many works in graphic design, illustration and I published a rock magazine too. SAGA will be ressurected in 2004, to happiness of a lot of people!

Tools and equipments: I use Pentel propelling pencils to draw, Sakura Pigma Micron and Faber-Castell Ecco Pigment pens to ink the lines and fine details and Winsor & Newton series 7 brushes and Winsor & Newton Indian ink to finish them all. In some drawings I use Pilot markers, Talens gouache, Talens Ecoline and Caran d' Ache watercolors. My hardware is a Macintosh G3, Agfa SnapScan 1212U scanner, Wacom Graphire tablet and Epson 740i ink-jet printer.

Artists who I like: in comic books, Alan Davis, John Byrne, Will Eisner, Moebius, Enki Bilal, Osamu Tesuka Akira Toriyama and Frank Miller; in concept design to movies, Miles Teves,Geof Darrow and Bernie Wrightson; in illustration and painting, Frank Frazzeta (Frank rules!), Hajime Sorayama and Boris Vallejo.

The best movies: Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Terminator 2, Blade 2, Gladiator, The Howling, An American Werewolf in London, The Fearless Vampire Killers, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Thing, Conan The Barbarian, Fight Club. Well, the list is longer, I love sci-fi and horror movies.

Comics what I recommend: Watchmen, Spirit, Dark Knigt Returns, John Byrne's 2112, Next Men and his 70's/80's Marvel works, Wolverine " Bloodlust ", Justice League "The Nail" and Excalibur (Alan Davis phase), any Bilal and Moebius works, all Mortadeo y Filemón and Tiintim books, Animal-Man (Grant Morrison) and Hulk (Bruce Jones and John Romita Jr).

What I listen: I grew up listen 70's bands like Journey and Queen and in my teens I stoned in NWOBHM, so I love Heavy Metal bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest , Accept, Gamma Ray, Primal Fear, Grave Digger, Manowar, some 80's Hard Rock bands like Dokken, Icon and Twisted Sister. Also, I listen a little bit of everything.
